Meet the next Senator, Graciela Guzman

Graciela Guzmán (she/her/ella) is an Organizer for the Chicago Teachers Union, with a decade-long career spanning community organizing, mutual aid, electoral politics, and policy campaigns. She previously served as Chief of Staff for former Senator Cristina Pacione-Zayas and Political Director for both Pacione-Zayas and Senator Omar Aquino. Graciela's impactful work includes spearheading policy campaigns on healthcare, economic justice, child welfare, and immigration. Notably, she played a crucial role in securing healthcare expansion for low-income seniors aged 55 and above in Illinois, irrespective of immigration status. Her dedication to healthcare access, community betterment, and equity is informed by her family's immigration experience from El Salvador, and she actively engages with various organizations to reimagine a better Chicago.
